Jarosław Perszko (35 y.), was born and is still living in Hajnówka, at the skirt of Białowieska Forest. He is descendant of several generations of Siberian Exiled. He graduated from the Fine Arts Faculty (Sculpture) of the Nicolaus Copernicus Univrsity of Toruń in 1989. He was taught by a prominent sculptor Professor Adolfa Ryszka.
The project of the Monument to the Poles Exiled to Siberia won the first prize at the 1996 competition. The main board of the Association of the Siberian Exiled in agreement with the Municipal Goverment of the City of Wrocław and the Administration Office of the Wrocław Province decided to construct the Monument in Wrocław.
